Twenty members thoroughly enjoyed this trip, even if it did rain or all ten days. Everything ran very smoothly, one outstanding feature being the remarkably high standard of the food. This caused several lassies from Victoria House to forget them selves, particularly one morning where Garth poached 63 eggs. We made two attempts on Ruapehu, but, as usual, the weather was foul and the crater was the highest point reached. It is becoming difficult to entice people to [unclear: go climbing] now that such an interest is being taken in skiing.
